'Rockaway 3' Helps Midwood Hornets Soar
      Midwood High School girls' varsity basketball player Michelle Cashen remembers the day three years ago when she was riding the Q35 bus from Brooklyn back to Rockaway. Along with her friend and teammate Megan McKenna, the then sophomore was riding home from a pre-season practice when she noticed one of her new teammates hop on the bus.

      The former stars of the powerful Soviet Union and Russia hockey teams from the 1970's and 1980's gathered at the Aviator Sports Recreational Complex last Sunday afternoon as they were honored for their legendary on-ice performances. SFDS Girls Victorious In Playoffs
      The Girls Diocesan playoffs began this weekend with St. Francis getting off to a fine start. The Intermediates turned in their finest performance of the season, running out to a 17-0 lead en route to a 43-10 win over St. Gabriel.
