Belle Harbor Torah Institute Unveils Mega-Website

The Belle Harbor Torah Institute has launched a mega-interactive website created to provide a treasure-trove of information for everything Jewish, according to a spokesperson for the institute.

Utilizing a variety of advanced web technologies and an elegant design, "belleharbortorah.com" is dedicated to keeping people informed of upcoming events, classes, holidays, and Jewish study material.

With the busy Jewish calendar of special holidays and celebrations, site visitors will find links to hundreds of web pages chock full of everything from practical how-to guides to deep mystical and Talmudic insights; from interactive games to a worldwide database of community services.

Updated daily throughout the year, the site offers thought provoking essays on the weekly Torah portion, as well as an online magazine and a "Thought for the Day" column. It provides audio and video links to Torah classes, including the acclaimed "Living Torah" weekly video magazine. "Many people want to be able to learn in the comfort of their own home or office", said Rabbi Levi Osdoba, director of the Belle Harbor Torah Institute. "This will be their 24-hour local source of Jewish learning".

Want to know times for Shabbat candle lighting? Not sure of your Jewish-calendar birthday or Bar Mitzvah date? How about the Yahrtzeit (the deceased Hebrew-calendar anniversary ) of a loved one? Log on to belleharbortorah.com for multiple powerful calendar wizards. Or just use the 1000-year-calendar, which allows you to convert secular-calendar dates to Jewish-calendar dates, or vice versa.

Perhaps the most revolutionary feature offered, is the "Ask Moses" link. Rabbis are available live 24/6, (all days of the week, except for the Jewish Sabbath and holidays), to answer your questions, one on one, on any topic.
