Russian Hockey Legends Skate At Aviator Complex
The Aviator Sports Complex will be the host of an exhibition contest which will feature the legends of Russian hockey all gathered on the ice rink at Floyd Bennett Field on Sunday.
Starting at 3 p.m. former stars of the NHL will gather for an exhibition game to showcase the accomplishment of 50 years of Russian hockey. From the powerful Olympic teams of the 1970's and 1980's to the stars who left the country to become NHL all-stars, many former stars will gather to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Russia's first Olympic victory in 1957.
Two of the most famous teams in professional hockey will be stocked with the legends and battle on the Ice. CSKA (Red Army Team will take on Sparktak Moscow.
Stars familiar to NHL hockey fans who will be present at the event is Viatcheslav (Slava ) Fetisob, a former member of the New Jersey Devils and Stanly Cup Champion Detroit Red Wings who will be present. He is currently is the Minister of Sports for the Russian Federation.
Igor Larionov, the former Wings stars will be present along with former Devil Alexander Semak.
An additional guest who will provide entertainment during the break between periods will be Olympic gold medalist Oksana Baiul. She will be performing her exciting ice skating moves as part of the game's festivities.
The event will be held at Aviator Sports and Recreation's Rink A at Hangar 5 at Floyd Bennett Field on Flatbush Avenue. Tickets can be purchased at the door prior to the start of the event. The MTA Bus Q35 is the only means of public transportation available to get to the event.
