Public School 256Q Thanks Local Organizations

'Twas three days before Christmas
And all through the school
Our students were excited 'cause the Holidays are
The presents were hidden in the principal's room
But some children peeked in a little too soon
And oh how they worried
You see some are less fortunate than you
But they knew they'd get something
Something shiny and new
They don't know where the gifts came from
But the staff at the school sure knows
They came from the people of Rockaway
And the Rockaway Artists Alliance adorned them
with a bow

The kidsmART children of the RAA
Chose a tag from a tree
To make children happy and overjoyed with glee
The mighty Graybeards pitched in
With a bucketful of loot
And the look on the children's faces
Oh, it was so charming and cute
Captain Whelan showed up from Ladder 137
Wearing a long white beard, like he was sent from
Ho, Ho, Ho he said as they sat on his knee
Handing them a gift they'd adore for eternity
A scooter for Betty
A CD for John

A Bratz doll for Cindy
It was all so much fun!
Thank   you   Rockaway Artists Alliance   and   the
kidsmART participants
You took a child's dream and made a big difference
Three days before Christmas we saw a bright light
It was the people of Rockaway
Who we'll always cherish and hold tight.
Merry Christmas to all
And to all a good night
