Great Idea - Now What?

Helen Marshall, the Borough President should call a meeting with elected officials. If they care about public good and their own legacies they have to give this proposal deep consideration and then do what they can to get this going. The Queens Beep would also invite the executives of Wounded Warrior Project and the Intrepid Foundation, the Fisher Houses, and other like-minded foundations to be on the board and offer guidance, and also invite The Neponsit Home Owners and The Graybeards (who organized the Wounded Warrior visits) and interested non-profits to be involved. A Stars and Stripes Facility By The Sea would be a tribute to the troops and testament to Rockaway's heart. We would rather fail trying than simply handing the property to a developer. If it fails, housing will always be an option. At this point, we think it best to follow the spirit of the wounded soldiers who came here to try water-skiing and other sports and came away saying "If I can do this, I can do anything" If we succeed we will have done something good for the community, the city, and the country.
