Sorrentino Little League Host Title Weekend

Youngsters from the 9 to 12 year old group, including the first place Nationals gather for a group photo.
The Sorrentino Recreational Center in conjunction with Health Plus/Police Athletic League/ City of New York will present the 2006 Parks and Recreation Queens Little League Baseball Championships this Saturday at O' Donohue Park.

The consolation and championship games will take place at the baseball diamond on Beach 17 Street starting at 9:30 a.m. The Bantam Division (9-12) consolation game will be the first match of the day between the Royals, coached by Issac Parsee and the Giants, coached by Robert Lindo.

The championship game will take place at 11 a.m. between the Nationals, coached by Tee Bradford and the Rays, coached by Raymond Desmarets.

In the Junior Division (ages 13-15), the consolation game will begin at 12:45 p.m. between the Orioles, coached by Jose Perez and the Athletics, coached by Lloyd Webber- Bey. The championship will take place afterwards at 2:15 p.m. between the Astros, coached by Stan Brown and the Braves, coached by Issac Parsee.

The winners will represent Queens in the citi-wide playoffs on August 19 at Red Hook Park in Brooklyn.
