The license plate on this Chrysler Sebring says "BERNIE 1," but it could have said "Burn, Bernie, Burn." The owner, whose last name was not known at press time, left his car with its convertible top down Wednesday afternoon on Rockaway Beach Boulevard at Beach 91 Street. When the man came out of one of the nearby stores, he told bystanders, he saw a group of kids running from the scene and noticed his car was engulfed in raging flames. Police and arson investigators are reportedly looking into the incident because the engine compartment did not appear to be the source of the fire. No one was injured in the incident.
