Church of Christ Health Fair About More Than Just Health
By Miriam Rosenberg Contributing Editor

Adults keep an eye on their children at the play gym that was set up at the health fair.
With games, a science show, a fashion show and a performance by an a cappella group, the Fourth Annual Community Health Fair and Festival at the Far Rockaway Church of Christ provided residents of the area, last Saturday, with more than an average health fair. The health fair, co-sponsored by State Senator Malcolm Smith and City Councilman James Sanders Jr. featured exams and screenings such as blood pressure screenings by St. John's Episcopal Hospital and Queens Hospital Center, along with workshops on various topics including Alzheimer's and caregiving by the Department of the Aging. The event also included the distribution of medical information by, among others, Addabbo Family Health Center, Queens Comprehensive Perinatal Council, Inc., the New York Department of the Aging and The Health Library.
The MTA Vinnie Voltage Science Show draws the curiosity of the young people who were at the fair.
A fairgoer stops between the information tables for the Health Library and the Addabbo Family Health Center - two of the many organizations who distributed information during the event.
