Breezy Point Student Accepted Into Leadership Program
Hennessey, 10, will join a select group of students in Washington, D.C. from April 2 to April 8, 2007 to earn high school credit while studying leadership and exploring prominent monuments and institutions in the United States. Hennessey was nominated and accepted to the program based on outstanding scholastic merit, civic involvement and leadership potential. From Capitol Hill to the Smithsonian Institute, and from Colonial Williamsburg to the National Museum of American History, Hennessey will examine the characteristics of American leadership during times of national challenge as well as prosperity. Forum delegates will also participate in small-group discussions and exercises to experience firsthand how successful leaders develop strategies, make decisions and foster change. The program is coordinated by People to People Student Ambassador Programs, a vision of Dwight D. Eisenhower when he founded People to People during his presidency in 1956.
Hennessey will begin the Scholars' Academy this fall.
