Hall Presented With Diversity Award

Marcella I. Hall of Far Rockaway was presented with the Presidential Diversity First-Year Cultural Participation Award at Moving-Up Day ceremonies held recently at St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York.

Hall, a freshman at St. Lawrence, graduated from Math/Science Research Technology Magnet High School in Cambria Heights.

The Presidential Diversity Scholar Awards were established to increase student diversity by facilitating the enrollment of students of African American, Asian American, Hispanic American and Native American backgrounds, and to provide opportunities for diverse cultural initiatives on and off campus for the recipients. Awards will be presented to current scholars for academic achievement and cultural participation.
