Cyclists from all over New York City took a long ride from the Brooklyn side of the Williamsburg Bridge to Rockaway last Sunday to honor the memory of Andre Anderson, the 14-year-old Rockaway youth who was killed while riding his bike at Shore Front Parkway and Beach 77 Street in September of last year. More than 100 riders converged at the Rockaway Skate Park on Shore Front Parkway at Beach 91 Street to raise their bikes in memory of Andre, one of the 21 cyclists who were killed by motorized vehicles in New York City last year. The bike ride was sponsored by Time's Up, an organization dedicated to environmental education and direct action.
