Memories Of Summer Bungalow Remain

John Hofmann shared with The Wave pictures of the dollhouse that he made from memory of the bungalow he and his wife rented on Beach 101 Street in Rockaway Beach. Hofmann and his family rented the bungalow for 35 years, where they enjoyed the easy access to the beach and carefree summer days. Many bungalows, including the one Hofmann rented, were destroyed, and more are threatened to be razed by larger developments. Hofmann made the model for his wife as a reminder of their summers spent in the Rockaways.
