Remembering Candidate Terry Flynn

The memorial ad for Terry Flynn posted by his family in last week's Wave said, "To try and reduce somebody's life to several lines on a sheet of paper is extremely difficult. To do so for Terry Flynn, Sr., is impossible at best. Several years ago, Flynn, a long-time Republican political activist ran for civil court judge. Although he lost, these pictures from our archives point out the support he always had in the Rockaway community. Here, Flynn (second from left) is seen with then-Mayor Rudy Giuliani, then-City Councilman Al Stabile and Joanne Ariola, who works for Mayor Michael Bloomberg in his community assistance unit.
Flynn poses with three of the members of the now-defunct Community School Board 27. Pictured, from left, School Board President Steve Greenberg, Flynn, Jim Adams (holding poster) and James Eagan.
