FDNY Help Our Hero's Boxing Show

The New York Fire Department will present the "Help Our Hero's" Charity Boxing Show on Friday, April 21st at Christ the King High School in Middle Village. The charity boxing show will feature 12 schedule bouts matching members of the FDNY against the best amateur boxing talent form around the country.

There will be a few FDNY inter department matches and a couple of other boxers from the NYPD, Philadelphia Fire Dept. and Chicago Fire Department. There will also be two kick boxing matches.

Half of all tickets sales will be donated to the "Wounded Warrior" project which supports severely injured American soldiers who return home from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Last year's event raised $10,000 and the FDNY hopes to top that figure for the troops this year.

Over 1,000 people attended last year's show. The bouts will start at 8 p.m. with the doors opening at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20.00 and available at the door. Christ the King High School is located at 68-02 Metropolitan Avenue in Middle Village.
