Two-Alarm Fire Devastates Beach 15 Street Home

A fast-moving fire that brought firefighters from many parts of the peninsula, wiped out a private two-family home at 299 and 301 Beach 15 Street in Far Rockaway on Thursday evening, March 16. Nine residents as well as a number of pets were safely evacuated by firefighters and were given shelter by the Red Cross. Fire officials said that the fire was first called in at 6:09 p.m. and was declared under control at 7:18 p.m.
