for larger version       Peninsula Hospital To Host Blood Drive Peninsula Hospital Center will sponsor a blood drive on Monday, February 27, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Meditation Room at the Center for Extended Care and Rehabilitation, located directly adjacent to the hospital center at 50-15 Beach Channel Drive in Far Rockaway. Eligible donors should be in good health, with a minimum weight of 110 pounds, and be between the ages of 17 and 75, although older persons may give blood with their doctor’s written permission. In the past, some who have wanted to donate have been turned away due to certain mediations they were taking, or because of other special circumstances. However, some of the rules have changed and updated, and those wishing to donate who have questions regarding their eligibility should call 1-800-933-2566. Those who donate blood during the drive will be issued a voucher for lunch in the cafeteria. For additional information call the hospital at (718) 734-2507.
