Peninsula Dental Society recently hosted an all-day seminar, “Creating Restorative Excellence”, at the Sands Hotel in Long Beach. Dental professionals from across New York State attended the program delivered by John C. Kois, DMD, M.S.D., an Affiliate Professor, Graduate Restorative Dentistry, University of Washington. Dr. Kois is an editorial board member of The Compendium of Continuing Education in Dentistry and a content reviewer of International Journal of Prosthodontics, as well as a recipient of the Saul Schulger Memorial Award for Clinical Excellence in Diagnosis and Treatment Planning. He is also a member of the American College of Prosthodontics, The Pierre Fauchard Academy, The International College of Dentists and the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry.
The seminar was brought to the New York area by Dr. Leonard E. Schiffman, D.M.D., who for the past 26 years has served as the Director of the Peninsula Hospital Center Dental Society, the largest continually operating cooperative dental study group in New York State. This renowned society has hosted well over 150 seminars attended by thousands of dentists from the metropolitan New York region who participate in instructional programs presented by the most prominent dentists in the world. Dr. Schiffman, is the Director of the Department of Dentistry and OralMaxillofacial Surgery and the Director of the General Practice Residency Dental Program at Peninsula Hospital Center, where he has helped train hundreds of dentists. Dr. Schiffman also hold the position of Adjunct Assistant Clinical Professor at the Columbia University College of Dental and Oral Surgery.
