SJEH Hosts Successful Blood Drive

At the St. John’s Episcopal Hospital blood donor drive held on Monday, February 13, 49 pints of blood were collected by the New York Blood Center. “We are very grateful to everyone who braved the snow to come out and donate blood,”said John Boyle, PhD, Director of the Hospital’s Laboratory Services and blood drive chairman. “Donating blood is literally the gift of life. Without the generous support of our donors, among the community and the staff, we would not have an adequate supply to treat those in need,” he added. The New York Blood Center complimented the Hospital on their “terrific team” and on the “outstanding job” they did. Cynthia Criss, DO, St. John’s attending in the Department of Pediatrics, is prepared to give blood by Jennifer Genus, RN, New York Blood Center.
St. John’s Chief Executive Officer, Luis A. Hernandez (far left), posed with the blood drive committee which included the following Hospital employees (from left to right): Errol Hylton; Margaret Carey; Belinda Yahn; Joycelyn Masihdas; and Dr. John Boyle.
