Harry G’s BCHS Doo Wop Spectacular A Smash

Harry G’s 13th Annual Doo Wop Spectacular played on Saturday, January 28 before a packed audience at Beach Channel High School, and this year’s eight- act concert did not disappoint. Pictured are the Golden Group Memories with Vito Balsamo (left), a quintet comprised of singers from several groups of the doo wop era. They performed hits like “Gloria,” “Unchained Melody,” and “Last Kiss.”

Following intermission, Shirley Alston Reeves (pictured), former lead singer of the Shirelles, entertained the faithful with many of her well-known hits, including “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow,” “Soldier Boy,” and “Mama Said.” All photos by Bob Nemser
Eleven-year-old singing sensation Kid Kyle (pictured) and His Kool Kats were big hits at the show, singing songs like “I Wish That We Were Married” (sung to a young teenage girl in the audience), and “Paper Castles.”
