In sports, the 300 win plateau is most notable in baseball, where pitchers seek that mark to guarantee themselves Hall of Fame glory. Roger Clemens was the last to reach that mark with the Yankees in 2003.

For coaches, 300 wins is a great accomplishment which celebrates not only longevity but most notably success. Tonight, Bishop Kearney head coach Cathy Crockett will have the chance to reach 300 at home against Bishop Loughlin at 6 p.m.

The Tigers improved their record to 13-3 this season with two wins this past week over Mary Louis Academy and Notre Dame Academy

On Monday night at a packed Mary Louis gymnasium, Bishop Kearney won 65-52 and grabbed sole possession of second place with a 6-2 record in the CHSAA Division I. Maria Laterza and Jill Abitante scored 14 points each.

In the win against Notre Dame Academy, Michelle Kenel, the Bishop Kearney forward, scored 13 points and 12 points. She was among four players, who scored in double figures, which has been the modus operandi along with a stringent defense, for a successful season.

Without forward Shantee Goggins, the leading scorer of the Far Rockaway Lady Seahorses, Campus Magnet had an easy time dispatching their divisional rival, 53-21 last Tuesday.

Goggins, who leads the team in scoring with 18 points per game and second in rebounds on the team, missed the game with illness and Campus Magnet capitalized. Kerry Row scored 14 points with Jalessa Gordon and Nicole McCall adding 10 as the Bulldogs led 22-7 at halftime.

Far Rockaway fell below the .500 mark on the season to a 6-7 overall record. The Seahorses must win three of their last five games to qualify for post-season.
