Michael Keith, of the R & B group 112, visited with Action Center Tutoring Students youths last week to bring them a message of hope and urge them to believe in themselves.

Keith’s appearance was, as Aria Doe who is the Action Center executive director said, a reward to the young people who have worked hard in the tutoring program.

The Def Jam Records artist, along with his other band members, has won Grammies and MTV awards, and the group 112 was presented with platinum albums for each of their first three CDs.

Keith told the students to believe in themselves. “If at first you don’t succeed, don’t give up. You have to put forth the time and say I believe in myself.”
Keith and Action Center youth listen as one of the center’s students Mudaline Derisma, age 14, as she sings “You Should Let Me Love You”.
Students from PS 183 surround Keith in one of several groups photos he took with those who attended the event.
Keith signs autographs while he and the young people from PS 225 wait to have their picture taken.
