Neponsit Guard Caught With Naked Girl, 14
A security guard stationed in Rockaway faces child endangerment charges after he was caught this month with his pants down – and with a naked 14-year-old girl.
Dustin B. Gill, 28, of Brooklyn is charged with endangering the welfare of a child, according to Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown’s office. Gill was arrested on December 17 by Richard Ryan, an ASPCA humane law enforcement officer who found Gill and the girl, 14, together inside a guard booth at the former Neponsit Health Care Center site on Beach 149 Street and Rockaway Beach Boulevard.
Ryan was investigating the girl’s earlier allegation that Gill stole and then killed a pit bull puppy, which he had given her as a present. When the officer knocked on the guard booth at about 6:45 p.m. on December 17 Gill allegedly came to the door with his shirt and pants undone. Ryan entered and then found the girl, wearing only socks, inside a bathroom.
Gill described himself as the girl’s boyfriend during questioning by authorities.
The girl, whose name is being withheld by authorities due to her age and the nature of the allegations, told investigators that Gill had instructed her to take off all her clothes. He then kissed her and touched her breasts, according to court records.
Published reports said Gill was charged with rape, endangering the welfare of a child and sexual abuse, but, according to Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown’s office, Gill faces only one count of endangering the welfare of a child. He was arraigned in Queens Criminal Court on December 18 and posted $1,000 bail, according to a spokesperson for Brown. Further details were not immediately available.
The pit bull puppy, which triggered the investigation and helped uncover the alleged child endangerment, has not been found.
