SJEH Names New VP For Regulatory Affairs
Luis A. Hernandez, Chief Executive Officer at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital, has named Sharon Behar, MSN, RN, BC, CNAA, CPHQ, as the Vice President for Regulatory Affairs. She is responsible for the Hospital’s quality and performance improvement activities and oversees the Care Management/Discharge Planning/ Social Work and Risk Management Departments and all aspects of accreditation and compliance. Behar has 26 years of experience in nursing, including acute care, home care, managed care and hospital administration. Most of her years in clinical nursing were spent in the adult intensive care unit, both as a staff nurse and as a supervisor. She has been employed at St. John’s since 1997 in various roles, including Nursing Supervisor, Director of Care Management, and Administrative Director of Performance Improvement. She obtained her baccalaureate degree from the New York University School of Nursing and a master’s degree as a clinical nurse specialist from Adelphi University. She has earned certification in both Advanced Nursing Administration (CNAA) and Professional Healthcare Quality (CPHQ).
