PHC Chemotherapy Department Hosts Holiday Party
Each year, Rosemarie Zapata, RN, and Janet DePaolo, RN, the nurses responsible for Peninsula Hospital Center’s Ambulatory Chemotherapy Department, organize a festive holiday celebration for the patients of Ambulatory Chemotherapy, an integral part of the Hospital Center’s Cancer Treatment Program. The packages filled the room, the food was delicious and a special visit from Santa Claus added to the festivities. The attendees (ambulatory chemotherapy patients and their family members) were all in jolly spirits and were quick to point out that they wanted everyone to know that they were doing well, feeling great and so thankful for PHC’s cancer treatment service so close to home because it makes it so much easier for them to receive treatment. Rosemarie Zapata, RN, has spent many years as a nurse caring for patients in Ambulatory Chemotherapy. “We know each other’s names, we share our family special events and are thrilled for one another’s successful treatment. We really are a family and as a family, we celebrate not only the holidays together, but we continually celebrate life!” Pictured: left to right front row: Willie Terry, Mary Culleton, Margarita Rios, Gertrude Intrabartola, Ola Davis, Estelle Edmond, Gliceria Ramirez, Alma Ruiz.
