Chanukah Menorah Lighting At B. 116 Street
Temple Beth-El, Ohab Zedek and West End Temple will come together for the Chanukah Menorah lighting ceremony, which will take place on the first night of Chanukah, on Beach 116 Street at the median on Friday, December 15 at 3:30 p.m.
The peninsula's major Jewish houses of worship and their spiritual leaders Rabbi Blaine, Rabbi Tomsky and Rabbi Slome will join their congregants, youth and schoolchildren to share in the evening ceremonies, which will set the scene for the next eight days of menorah lighting.
On Saturday, December 16, the Chanukah lamp will be kindled after Sabbath at 5:30 p.m.; Sunday night and the weekday nights, 4:30 p.m.; and the last night of Chanukah on Friday, December 22, the lamp will be lit once again at 3:30.
The ceremony of kindling the Chanukah lights is a reminder for prayers of peace and understanding among people and nations. The Menorah symbolizes light, truth and loving kindness.
