This season's undefeated Fontbonne team matched up with Bishop Kearney for the fourth consecutive year in a row in the CHSAA Brooklyn-Queens Soccer Championship on Thursday, November 9th at Bay Ridge's Dyker Park.

Over the past four years this game has produced some of the league's closest championship games with Kearney taking the title in 2003 by the score of 2-1; and Fontbonne taking the title in 2004 by a 2-1 score and again in 2005 by a score of 3-2 in overtime.

This season Fontbonne had an overall record of 13-0 for first place while Bishop Kearney came in second, followed by Stella Maris in third and Bishop Ford in fourth. Coming into the playoffs, the Bonnies enjoyed a first round bye and then beat Bishop Ford 9-1 in the semi-final round, only to meet Bishop Kearney again in third consecutive post season final.

Bishop Kearney dominated play and took a first half lead for most the game 2-1, until Fontbonne's Laura Palumbo scored for the 2-2 tie just before the half. In the second half, Palumbo scored 3 more goals that would seal the title for the Bonnies.
