Fontbonne Hall JV, Varsity Bonnies Head To Playoffs

The final week of the 2007 GCHSAA volleyball regular season came to a close for the Bonnies of Fontbonne Hall Academy on Wednesday October 25th.

The Varsity completed the season at 12 wins, 2 losses by defeating Bishop Ford, on Monday 3-0, Saint Saviours on Tuesday, 3-0 and Bishop Ford again on Wednesday 3-1. Wednesday's game was highlighted by the final regular season game for our Graduating Seniors. Co-captains Kristina Lundberg, and Julie Stewart were honored along with Alair Sheehan, Cailin Carley, Elizabeth Lang, Britney Lynch, and Kerry Murdoch. These seniors have spent four years proudly representing Fontbonne Hall Academy in their sport. The school administration, teachers, students, coaches and parents congratulate each one and wish each a successful college experience.

That being said the Varsity will enter the playoffs as the second seed in Brooklyn, facing off against the third seed from Queens, either Saint John's Prep or Mary Louis on Monday at Fontbonne.

The semi-finals are scheduled for Thursday, November 2nd while the Finals are on Tuesday November 7th. The State Championships will be the next weekend, November 11th and 12th. The Varsity Bonnies hope to go all the way in the playoffs. The JV also saw action last week and completed a 12-0 perfect season. Led by soph Tri-captains Maggie Sheehan, April Shaughnessy, and Krissy DiMasi the JV has had its third undefeated regular season in a row. The JV will draw a bye in the quarter-finals as the #1 seed in Brooklyn. They will enter the semis next week and hopefully join the Varsity at the Championships on November 7th. Finally congratulations to Coaches Francine and Doug Fuerst, on another successful regular season, and good luck in the playoffs.
