Meeks Hosts Immigration Conference Call

Congressman Gregory W. Meeks is set to host a Sixth Congressional District Conference Call on Immigration to update his constituents on changes in immigration law.

The conference call, the first in a series that Congressman Meeks plans to hold, will take place on Monday, October 30, 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and will feature United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Community Liaison Officer Shyconia Burden-Noten.

Sixth Congressional District constituents simply need to dial (888) 552-9191 wait for the prompt, then enter pass code 15075 to participate in the call. The conference call will be in listen-only mode.

"The Conference Call on Immigration provides my office with an opportunity to utilize information technology to better serve my constituents," Congressman Meeks said. "During this call we hope to give constituents concerned about immigration the information they need to complete their naturalization application, processing times for green cards and citizenship application as well as security clearances," he added.

Congressman Meeks will also host Citizenship Day early next year. "The conference call and other Internet-based services, together with the Citizenship Day, are designed to help the thousands of men, women and children in the Sixth Congressional District to take the critical steps toward citizenship so that they, too, can fully participate in the economy and the democratic process," said Meeks.

All are welcome to participate.
