By Mike Malsy

The BCAC Peanut Shamrocks played the Plainedge Red Bobcats this past Saturday on the road. Offensively, the Shamrocks were led by their line of Brian McNulty, Charlie Bostwick, Johnny Walsh, Michael Henglein and Patrick Minihane. Outstanding blocking by the Shamrocks line led to 4 rushing TD's in the first half by Anthony Cimino- 55 yard score, Luke Hanning -15 yard score, Matt Ostrander-40 yard score and Patrick Minihane- 30 yard score.

Defensively for the Shamrocks, Anthony Cimino, Charlie Bostwick, Liam Malsy, Johnny Weiss, Danny Clark, Aidan Smith, Bryan Bostwick, Brian McNulty, Johnny Walsh and James Carson controlled the line of scrimmage. Linebackers Patrick Minihane, Steven Kenny, Matt Ostrander, Liam Malsy, Cameron Manzi and Safety Luke "Skywalker" Hanning kept the Bobcat's offense in check only allowing twelve first half points.

Leading 24-12, the Shamrock offense started to move the ball in the third Quarter with many runners contributing, Michael Henglein, Liam Malsy, Steven Kenny and Johnny Weiss brought the ball down to the Bobcat 30. Cameron Manzi took the next handoff and ran a sweep for a TD. The Shamrock defense forced a 4th and 3 with nice tackles by Bryan Bostwick, James Carson and Danny Clark but the Bobcats scored on a sweep. Charlie Bostwick was the featured back on the next Shamrock series using stiff arm blocks and scored on a 35 yard run.

After a Bobcat TD the Shamrocks looked to run out the clock but Aidan Smith took his second handoff of the game and scored his first TD of the season on a 35 yard sweep.

The Shamrocks have won 4 straight games but more importantly practice and play as a team every week. Parents should be very proud, your kids are playing great and it shows on the field and in their smiles.

Next Game: Saturday October 21, 5PM @ BCAC Memorial Field (LAST PEANUT HOME GAME). Please come and support your Shamrocks!!!!!
