Floyd Bennett Celebrates 75 Years This Weekend

The National Park Service will commemorate Floyd Bennett Field's 75th anniversary as New York City's first municipal airport and the 65th anniversary of Naval Air Station - New York, with a host of activities on Saturday, October 21.

The daylong celebration will include a fly-in by historic aircraft, a fly-over by military aircraft, antique automobiles and emergency equipment. There will be aviation, military and National Park Service exhibitors on hand, and guided tours of Floyd Bennett Field led by park rangers.

"Arnie Mig and the Serenaders in Blue" Big Band will provide entertainment.

The arrival of aircraft will be between 9 a.m and 11 a.m., with activities beginning at 11 a.m. Admission is free.
