Red Cross Training Opportunities
The American Red Cross in Greater New York has released its Fourth Quarter 2006 Safety and Preparedness Training Schedule.
According to State Senator Malcolm A. Smith, the Red Cross is offering an array of lifesaving courses to interested individuals, including the latest techniques in administering emergency First Aid, CPR, and cardiovascular care. CPR for Professional Rescuers is also being offered.
"This is a unique opportunity for all New Yorkers who are interested in gaining the knowledge and skills necessary to help save lives in emergency and other critical situations they may find themselves in," said Senator Smith.
"These flexible training courses and programs being made available by the American Red Cross will give citizens the confidence to respond in emergencies with skills that make a difference and save lives."
Senator Smith noted that the American Red Cross has been a part of the fabric of the Greater New York area for more than 100 years, and has been providing a wide array of programs and services designed to meet the needs of an ever-changing population.
The organization, founded in 1905, responds to natural disasters, helps people prepare for emergencies, and rebuild communities and lives after a crisis.
