The Inner Voice

Commentary by Marilyn Gelfand

It is almost impossible to know if some things are good or bad until they are viewed in hindsight. Change often signals discomfort, but if one can get through it, it could be better than before. Many of us don't like change, because we cannot see into the future and we already know what we have. When we feel out of control because of an unasked for change, it feels chaotic.

That's why it is so important to trust our instincts. We must make decisions and control ourselves without knowing where we are going exactly. If it feels comfortable within our spirit, then we make a move. This is not based on insecurity, but on trust that there is a big picture and energy that knows what my lessons are and what is occurring. I choose to link up with this force and proceed into the future. Other people may choose differently and still be following their instincts. We all have different things to learn and see the world in our own unique manner. If the other is not a child, it may be hard not to be judgmental or understand why a person might make such a choice, but in hindsight it may become clearer to us.

One person may need to learn not to be impulsive, while another might need to learn to take his own actions. If things are okay enough in the present, then we can let go and send out good energy. Beautiful thoughts and feelings can be freely given without being tied into specific actions. I can send someone I love peace or clarity, for example.
