Frank Avenue Civic Hosts Titus At Meeting

The guest speaker at the September 22 meeting of the Frank Avenue Civic Association of Edgemere was assemblywoman Michelle Titus, who came to share the news that the State University of New York (SUNY) had recently opened a new computer lab on Central Avenue in Far Rockaway. "After much hard work we finally accomplished this project," said Titus. Among the other topics discussed at the meeting were the streetlights from Beach 42 Street and Beach 45 Street on Rockaway Beach Boulevard that are habitually broken, causing an unsafe walk home from the Beach 44 Street Subway Station after sunset; and the community's relationship with Community Board 14. Steve Cooper, the organization's president, announced that the next meeting will be held on Thursday, October 19.
