Sorrentino/Police Athletic League/NFLFlag Football Season Lifts OffAt O'Donohue Park

The PAL/NFL/Parks and Recreation Flag Football League began their season last Saturday at O' Donohue Park on Beach 17 Street.

Games began at 9:30 a.m. with the 8-11 year old co-ed G-Way team, coached by John Middleton, defeating the Sorrentino "B" team which is coached by Stan Brown, in the first game 59-6. In the second game, Sorrentino "A" team, coached by Stan Brown/John Bradford defeated Team Deuce, coached by Issac Parsee 14-0. The 12-14 co-ed age division featured the Sorrentino "A" team, coached by Rob Lindo, defeating Team Rockaway, which is coached by Errol Miller 36-26. Team Cowboys, coached by Jose Perez, beat Team Deuce, coached by Chris Frey by the score of 26-8. All games will be played on Saturdays, except on Monday, which is Columbus Day, as games begin at 9:30 a.m. On Saturday, October 7, games will start at 9:30 a.m.

The Sorrentino Center staff would like to thank the kids for their involvement in this year's program: Bernard Robinson- Center Manager, Stan Brown- Sports Coordinator, and Robert Lindo- Assistant Sports Coordinator. Coaches: Issac Parsee, Errol Miller, Chris Frey, Keith Watson, John Middleton and Jose Perez. Officials: Angelo Garcia, Kareem Softleigh and Andre Brown.
