The St. Francis de Sales centennial celebration and rain wiped out last week's soccer slate but in earlier unreported action, the 2nd Grade girls continued their strong start with a 3-1 victory over St. Gregory's.

The first goal was scored about 15 minutes into the game by Molly Breslin, assisted by Courtney McCool. The second goal came from Maria Di Carlo assisted by Megan Twomey. The finishing touch came from Lauren "Speedy" Martin with the assist by Victoria Stagnitta.

Despite the three goals, St. Gregory's two outstanding goalies stopped a total of 24 shots on net. This week, the goalies for SFDS were Nicole Gibson, Devin Gavigan and Bridget Breslin whom combined to stop a total of only seven shots due to the powerful defense of Kaitlin Neiswenter, Ave Evangelista, Mollie Kuhlmann, Taylor Tsatsis, Rhama El Sayed and Fiona Brackley.

The team would also like to welcome the final three new additions, Carli Bopp, Emma Frawley and Emma Meade, all who contributed to the success of the team. The team would also like to thank Danielle Sconzo for coming out of retirement and adding her skills back in the midfield position.
