BCAC Midgets Suffer First Loss To Glen Cove

The BCAC Midget Shamrocks came in to their fourth game with a 3-0 record against a tough Glen Cove team, who were also 3-0.

Glen Cove would prove victorious as the Shamrocks fell 24-6. It started out good for the Midgets as they held Glen Cove on their first drive. BC got the ball on their own 15 and started to drive down the field but the Glen Cove defense got tough and held the Shamrocks. On the punt, the Glen Cove returner took it to the end zone for a 6-0 lead.

The Shamrocks stayed tough but were shutdown as Glen Cove got the ball back, drove the field and scored to make it 12-0.

Glen Cove put a drive together and scored again to take an 18-0 lead at half.

The Shamrocks came out in the second half and put a drive together to score a 32 yd td run by Eddie Hoff. The Glen Cove team put one more drive together to put them up 24-6. On the last drive the 9 yr olds of the Shamrocks put a great defensive stand and held Glen Cove as that ended the game giving The Shamrocks may have lost their first game but. The team played an overall great game against a tougher Glen Cove. Ed Hoff rushed 97 yards on 11 carries, Mike Abrams had 6 carries for 36 yards. On defense, Eamonn, Paulie and Mike each had five tackles. The next game will be at Lindenhurst on Sunday at October 8 at 2:00 p.m.
