Saying Goodbye To Two Long-time Wave Voices
It is often difficult to contemplate when one of the Wave family passes on. It is doubly so when two long-time columnists die in the same week. Harry McGuirk, who wrote the "Meet The Irish" column, passed away in a Dublin hospital last week. He moved to Ireland in early 2002 after his wife, Margie, passed away. Then, on Monday of this week we were notified that Bernard Blum, the writer of the highly respected "Sprayview Sticks and Stones" environmental column. While neither of the two men has contributed to The Wave for the past years due to illness, their voices will be missed.
