Ladies Hibernians Off To Great Start

Rockaway's Ladies Order of Ancient Hibernians Division 25 got off to a great start on Tuesday evening with their first meeting, held at the Belle Harbor Yacht Club. There were 120 members in attendance, as well as the 20 young girls ages 6 to 17 who were sworn in to the newly-formed junior division. They will be starting arts and crafts for various charity organizations as well as a statewide scrapbook contest.

The Ladies Division will be starting their charity projects next month. The combination of the young girls and women working together bridges the generation gap as they work together. President Lily Corcoran-Pineiro stated during the meeting "that we have formed a sisterhood and are now one large family of sisters."

Both groups welcome new members at each meeting, with the next one scheduled for October. Watch The Wave and church bulletins for place and time.
