PS/MS Students Create Cave Paintings
Students at PS/ MS 43 studied ancient cave paintings and then created larger than life images which are displayed in an interactive exhibit at the school in Far Rockaway. The "Secret Cave" is an area where all members of the community can wander and view paintings in the style of paintings made 18,000 years ago in the caves at Lascaux, France. Students in grades 7 and 8 created the images as part of the talent program for middle schoolers at PS/MS 43. They worked with art teacher, Jo Anne Ellis.
