Peanut Shamrocks Performs Well In Bright Lights

By Mike Malsy

The BCAC Peanut Shamrocks opened the 2006 season with a tough road game against Glen Cove.

Under the bright lights of Glen Cove stadium the offense enjoyed an excellent ground attack led by Anthony Cimino (105 Yards Rushing), Charlie Bostwick, Patrick Minihane, Matt Ostrander, Aiden Smith and Luke Hanning. Starting QB Cameron Manzi directed the offense executing several big runs with his flawless exchanges from center Johnny Walsh. Patrick Minihane and Liam Malsy also contributed at the QB position. The offensive line of Jake Murphy, Brian McNulty, Charlie Bostwick, Brian Bostwick, Michael Henglein, Johnny Weiss, Cameron Manzi, Steven Kenny and James Carson provided huge running lanes for the Shamrock running backs.

The Shamrocks played an excellent defensive game, forcing 3 fumbles, 3 sacks and forcing 2 turnovers on downs. The defensive line of Steven Kenny, Liam Malsy, Sean Cavanagh, Daniel Clark, James Carson, Brian Bostwick, Charlie Bostwick, Michael Henglein, Johnny Weiss, and Johnny Walsh clogged up the running lanes. LB's Anthony Cimino, Patrick Minihane, Matt Ostrander, Aiden Smith and Brian McNulty made several tackles. Safety Luke Hanning stole the show on defense landing several solo tackles and bone crushing hits.

The coaches would like to thank all the parents, family and friends who traveled to lend their support. Our players love an audience so please keep showing up for the games. They played an excellent game and more importantly had a great time.
