Estelle Caraccilo, a longtime Inwood resident, died September 2. She was 88.
Caraccilo lived at Mary's Manor Senior Residence in Inwood. She was a Gold Star Mother, whose son, Anthony, died in Vietnam in February 1971 while serving in the U.S. Army.
Caraccilo was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony "Tony" and son, Anthony.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Dobson (Jerome) of Charlotte, North Carolina; grandchildren, Kelly Polomine of Richmond, Virginia, Anthony Dobson (Vanessa) of Santa Monica, California, Shannon Mateo (Gregory) of Charlotte, North Carolina and Kristen Marzano (Michael) of Bellmore, Long Island; great-grandchildren, Francis, Amanda and Austin Polomine and Gregory and Cassidy Mateo; and sister, Jean Kratzen of Baltimore, Maryland.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Meserole Funeral Home Inc. A Funeral Mass was celebrated at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Inwood. Interment was at Long Island National Cemetery in Pinelawn, Long Island.
Daniel DelValle, a Rockaway resident for 16 years, died September 3.
DelValle, a mechanic for a muffler shop, was born in Puerto Rico.
He is survived by his father, Jorge DelValle; domestic partner, Maria Solla; brothers, Jorge Luis, Ricardo and Joel; cousin, Lissette Centeno; and 20 nieces and nephews.

William Smith Edelen III
William Smith Edelen III, a Rockaway resident for over 40 years, died August 31. He was 53.
Edelen, a custodian, was born on October 28, 1952 in Far Rockaway and was a member of the United States Airforce.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Smith Edelen Jr.
Edelen is survived by his wife, Celeste; mother, Laura; brother, Stephen (Tracey); sister, Yvonne (Paul King); daughters, Simone (Kirk Brister), Shaniqua (Randy Morgan, Jr.), Stephanie (Albert Hendricks) and Celise; grandchildren, Dynisha, Jaquan, Shatiqu, Kylif, Nyleek, Tinia, Tyleek, Donovan, Nyshawn and Naji; grandparents, Bishop George W. and Emma Johnson; aunt, Loretta; uncle, Vaughn; nieces and nephews; in-laws, Sheila (Jesse) and Marc (Valarie); and other family members and friends.

Louisa 'Marge' Kortus
Longtime Rockaway Resident
Louisa "Marge" Kortus, a longtime Rockaway resident, died August 12 at Calvary Hospital. She was 65.
Kortus, an employee of Fredrick Goldman's Inc. and St. John's Home for Boys, was born on November 14, 1941 in Shanghai, China. She came to America at the age of 7.
Kortus helped two blind people see with the donation of her corneas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Olaf Snekkestad and Cecilia Kortus; and sister, April.
She is survived by her children, Cecilia Ruth and Patrick Francis Davis; sisters, Maryna and Grace; brother, James Allan; and best friend, Patricia Smith.
A Celebration of Life, officiated by Brother Tom Trager, will be held Saturday, September 16 at 5 p.m., at St. John's Home for Boys, 144 Beach 111 Street, third floor. A poetry reading and volunteer speakers will follow. A reception will be held in the courtyard of 177 Beach 109 Street.

Retired NY Port Authority Matron
Anna M. Long, a 20-year Rockaway resident and longtime summer resident, died September 6.
Long, a retired matron for the New York Port Authority, was born in Arklow, County Wicklow, Ireland.
Long was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; son, William; and brothers, Michael and Thomas English.
She is survived by her sons, George (Bonny) and Joseph (Julie); brother, Peter English; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday, September 8, from 2-5 p.m. and 7-10 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis de Sales in Belle Harbor on Saturday, September 9, at 9:45 a.m. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Woodside.
Patricia M. Maloney
Longtime Broad Channel Resident
Patricia M. Maloney, a Broad Channel resident for 13 years, died September 4. She was 82.
Maloney, a retiree, was born in Babylon, New York and was active in the St. Virgillius Rosary Society and the Golden Age Clubs of both St. Camillus and St. Virgillius.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph R. Maloney.
Maloney is survived by her daughters, Kathy Maloney, Maureen Maloney and Patty Kissane; son-in-law, Sean Kissane; grandchildren, Juan and Maritza Lopez, Sean and Keri Kissane, and Jesse and Lauren Goicoechea; and great-grandchildren, Juan and Matthew Lopez.

Mary Ramseur, a Rockaway resident for more than 20 years, died August 4. She was 67.
Ramseur, a home attendant, was born on August 30, 1938 in Manhattan. She was a member of St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church in Far Rockaway.
Ramseur was preceded in death by her parents, Carrie and Ed Benefield; and daughter, Cheryl.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Ramseur; daughters, Charla and Maria; grandchildren, Tianni and Tiji; and many other relatives and friends.

Genevieve Reardon, a lifelong Far Rockaway resident, died September 5 at St. John's Episcopal Hospital. She was 84.
Reardon, a retired law secretary, graduated from Far Rockaway High School.
She is survived by her husband, John Paul Reardon; sons, John of Ronkonkoma, Long Island, James of Baldwin, Long Island, Vincent (Ellen) of California and Fred of California; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Longtime Rockaway Resident
George Salvanish, a longtime Far Rockaway resident who recently moved to Moshannon, Pennsylvania, died August 19. He was 42.
Salvanish was born on July 6, 1964 in Far Rockaway. He enjoyed fixing cars, hunting, watching NASCAR races on television and building model cars.
Salvanish is survived by his parents, George A. Salvanish of Moshannon, Pennsylvania and Sumi Salvanish of Rockaway Beach; sister, Susan Calvo and niece, Jennifer Calvo, of Valley Stream, Long Island.
A funeral and burial will be held at Pinelawn Cemetery in Long Island at a later date.
Irene Joyce Seckler
Town & Country Travel
Irene Joyce Seckler, a Rockaway Park and Belle Harbor resident for more than 30 years, died August 28 in Boca Raton, Florida after a brief illness. She was 83.
Seckler was born in Brooklyn on June 23, 1923. She lived in Rockaway Park and Belle Harbor from 1963 to 1997 and worked as a travel agent for Town & Country Travel. Seckler was also a member of Hadassah and the American Cancer Society.
Seckler was preceded in death by her husband, Sheldon and her mother, Lillian Miller.
She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey and Edward; daughter-in-law, Ellen; and grandchildren, Matthew and Tracy.
A funeral was held in Queens on September 1.
