As Ernesto touches down on the beaches, but, the "Show Must Go On!" Through rain, wind and storm the Mardi Gras parade marched on as scheduled. Not as many floats as usual, but fearless marches were many. No dampened spirits here. However, because of torrential rains, the award ceremony took place at the Catholic Club instead of the usual spot, the ball field.

Johnny Crowley flew in to see Mom, Gladys Crowley, with his son Frank, Gladys's grandson, and also to catch the activities that take place during Labor Day weekend which marks the end of the season. They spread their time between Mom and brother Bobby and Patty's house. Johnny settled in Florida years ago, has a business, raised his family and is happy there. They get a few storms down there, too. He should feel right at home.

Speaking of grown children, what a lovely thing for Perret to book Dad on the QE2 with Mom to celebrate his 80th birthday. (Only, Perret, you should have booked it with me). Let me know, Barbara, how you liked it. Call me and email me.

Happy Birthday to Kevin Kuffner who celebrated his 27 th birthday recently. And congratulations to Steven Greenbaum Lucor.

The Eco Fest was held at Lincoln Center in NYC on Sunday, September 3 at Lincoln Center. Ann Sanders from Broadway's Avenue Q performed on the Plaza. George Gee Swing Band for the Tap In for clean tap water with veteran tap dancers: Harold Croner and Mabel Lee, the Young Hoofers and Traci Mann. Of course they are all selling products that keep our environment safe and to prevent air pollution. I was most impressed with the Solar Oven. No fire, no wood just the sun that heats it up and it cooks like a grill. We need more of these to prevent fires. There is a way to purify water among other things.

Hats off to the American Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CACCI) I attended their 21st anniversary of service to the small business community. They broke ground for the Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce Trade Center in Brooklyn. They provide business opportunities and assistance for all members of CACCI, small businesses especially, and they will help create partnership.
