Sorrentino Chases Little League Championship

The Sorrentino Recreational Center's two little league baseball teams will finally step on the field to claim the citywide Health Plus/PAL/ Parks and Recreation Queens Little League Championship.

A postponement held off the two Queens teams representing Sorrentino Center in the Bantam (9-12 years old) and Junior Division (13-15) championship from competing against the rest of the city at Red Hook Park in Brooklyn.

The Bantam Division winner for Queens, the Nationals baseball team coached by Tee Bradford, will have played at presstime last Thursday against the Bronx. If the Nationas had won, they will advance to the championship against the winner of Staten Island/ Brooklyn on Saturday at Red Hook Park in Brooklyn. The Braves, coached by Issac Parsee, will play in the semifinal of the Junior Division championship against Brooklyn on Saturday. The 12 p.m. matchup winner will face off against the Manhattan/Bronx victor for the citywide title.

Sorrentino Flag Football Signup

Signups for the fall season of the PAL/NFL/Parks and Recreation Flag Football season will begin today at the Sorrentino Recreational Center. Registration will be on a first come- first served basis for the 8-11 co-ed division and the 12-14 co-ed division.
