Were You There At Greenrose's Restaurant For this 1949 Kiddies Party?

On May 14, 1949, hundreds of children and their parents gathered at Greenrose's Restaurant on Beach 89 Street for the annual John P. Corrigan Beach 90 Street Association Kiddies Party. The original photograph, which was brought to The Wave by local resident Ray McDermott, is about three feet wide, so we had to break it up into six pictures to do it justice in our pages. We have some questions. Who was John P. Corrigan and why was he hosting the party? Who are the people in the photograph? Where are they now? Give us a call at (718) 634-4000 or email us at editor@ rockawave.com if you have the answer to any of those questions. By the way, Wave Managing Editor Howard Schwach recognized one of the women at the center of the picture as Fran McNamee, his fourth grade teacher at PS 106 and one of the Greenrose daughters.
