Median Without Cans Gets Trashed

A combination of trash and dog waste on this median on Beach 108 Street has turned the green space into an eyesore, residents say.
A combination of trash and dog waste on this median on Beach 108 Street has turned the green space into an eyesore, residents say. Residents on Beach 108 Street have noticed that trash is starting to pile up on the wide median on that street because the trash cans that were formerly placed every 30 feet or so are now placed at the ends only. Residents like Randy Marino say motorists who park along the median are simply tossing their trash - food containers, assorted wrappers and even motor oil containers - on the grass because there are no trash cans in sight. A staffer at City Councilman Joseph Addabbo's Office said she was aware of the problem and had reported it to the Department of Sanitation.
