LWA Academy Holds Sixth Annual Golf/Tennis Outing
On Monday, August 7th, marked Lawrence Woodmere Academy's sixth successful Golf and Tennis Outing at The Inwood Country Club. Over a hundred participants including alumni, students, parents, faculty, local business leaders and other members of the community braved the heat to show their support.
Proceeds from the event are designated to help grow and sustain the school's endowment.
"JP Morgan Chase is proud to support schools that offer extraordinary
educational experiences," said Michael K. Clark, Chief Executive Officer of JP Morgan Worldwide Securities Services. "Lawrence Woodmere Academy is that kind of school, which combines a robust curriculum with many other unique attributes, such as its commitment to the performing arts."
Clark, a Belle Harbor Resident and current LWA parent, has urged his company to provide a grand sponsorship and supply giveaways for the event for the past several years.
"It was a terrific event! I was especially gratified to see the participation of our alumni, as well as current families. We had students from our golf team and several students playing tennis, too. The support of our extended school community to help grow the endowment is very inspiring," said LWA Headmaster Alan Bernstein, who joined in the festivities by challenging current students and parents in a tennis match.
