Sorrentino Battles City For Parks Little League Title

The Sorrentino Recreational Center will field two representatives this Saturday in the citywide Health Plus/ PAL/ Parks and Recreation Queens Little League Championship in Red Hook.

The Nationals, coached by Tee Bradford, will be the Queens representative in the Bantam (9-12 years old) Division. They defeated the Rays 10-9 on August 12 at O' Donohue Park to advance to the citywide playoffs, where they will face off against the Bronx Parks Department representative. The winner of the game will take on the victor of Brooklyn/ Staten Island.

The Nationals team members: Lester Enriquez, Jamar Bradford, Aaron Roberts, Nicolas Creary, Khalil Mitchell, Damion Brooks, Stefon Lide, Harold Rhames, Deandre Brown, Bradley Stewart, Derrick Lomax, Adante Oliver, Raquel Reina and Keison Trottman.

The Braves, the winners of the Junior Division championship over the Astros on August 12, advances to the title game also on Saturday at Red Hook Park. The team will play against Brooklyn in the semifinals starting at 12 p.m. The winner faces off against the representative from the Bronx or Manhattan.

The Braves are coached by Issac Parsee. Team members: Marlon Velasquez, Shoaib Monis, Jeffrey Parada, Dennis Rivera, Ariz Alvarez, George Martinez, Habib Zahir, Manzoor Monis, Emmanuel Vargas, Christopher Frey.
