Mother In Frantic Search For Daughter, 16
Veronica Hutchinson of 445 Beach 46 Street hasn't seen her daughter Angela since July 28, when the girl supposedly took a taxi to her job as a babysitter/ housekeeper in Cedarhurst, the concerned mother told The Wave this week.
Hutchinson, who said her daughter did not have any reason to run away and was not the type to abandon her family, filed a missing persons report with police on August 2. This week, detectives visited her home and the house on Auerbach Lane in Cedarhurst where Angela worked.
The new babysitter at the home in Cedarhurst told a Wave reporter that Angela suddenly stopped showing up for work three or four weeks ago. The woman who employed Angela later told The Wave she hasn't heard from the teenager since late last month.
"We last saw Angela Hutchinson on Monday night, July 24, and haven't heard from her since," said the woman, who did not want to be identified. "That was the last time we saw her, and we haven't heard from her."
Hutchinson said she circulated 200 posters with Angela's picture on them in Far Rockaway this week. A message left on the girl's cell phone was not returned. On Thursday, calls went straight to her voicemail-box, which was full.
"At this point I'm just going crazy looking for my daughter," Hutchinson said. "I don't know what to think anymore."
Angela is described as 5-foot, three-inches tall, 220 pounds, with blonde highlights in her hair and very dark brown eyes. She has two piercings in both ears. Anyone with information on her whereabouts can call the NYPD Missing Persons Squad at (212) 473-2042.
Hutchinson said she was seriously considering hiring a private detective who could "put more effort" into finding Angela. "I just keep praying that wherever she is she's ok," she said.
