The Belle Harbor Garden Club will host a special floral demonstration, "The Elegance of Autumn," a luncheon and Chinese auction on Wednesday, October 4 starting at 11:30 a.m. at Russo's on the Bay.

Ian Tonnessen LLC, a multi-talented floral designer whose works have been featured throughout the metropolitan area, including the New Jersey governor's mansion, Madison Square Garden galas, Kennedy Center, Waldorf Astoria, and restaurants like Per Se, Jean George and Le Cirque, will be the guest speaker at the event.

Tonnessen has also coordinated industry seminars and taught classes in professional design at the New York Botanical Garden, Kingsborough College, Parson's School of Design and the Horticulture Society of New York.

Committed to community beautification, Tonnessen has been a member of the New York Botanical Garden Speakers' Bureau and is active in the Bay Ridge Festival of the Arts and his own historical society in upstate New York.

Belle Harbor Garden Club members also contribute talent, labor and funds to beautify local communities. They have cleaned up, planted and maintained the Patricia Brackley Park on Cronston Avenue, Memorial Circle on Rockaway Beach Boulevard and Tribute Park.

The Belle Harbor Garden Club is a member of the Federated Garden Clubs of New York State, Inc. and a member of National Council Garden Clubs, Inc., the largest gardening organization that has clubs all over the world.

Tickets for the luncheon are available now. To order, call Peggy at (718) 945-2425.
