Man Cuts Cop With Kitchen Knife
A police officer suffered a minor injury in Arverne Monday night when a suspect wielding a kitchen knife slashed his hand while resisting arrest, according to court records.
Police Officer Burt Antoine of the 100 Precinct suffered a cut to his right middle finger as he and his partner, Police Officer Larnel L. Johnson were placing Lamar Greene, 22, under arrest, records show. Greene picked up a yellow-handled kitchen knife, allegedly pointed it and waved it at the officers and slashed Anotine's finger as he resisted arrest.
The officers were responding to the apartment where Greene lives, located at 71-15 Beach Channel Drive, 2P, because a female acquaintance, Tonia Robinson, called 911 and said Greene was intoxicated and screaming profanities out the window.
Greene was eventually placed under arrest and police found another small knife in his pants pocket.
He is charged with assault, two counts of menacing, resisting arrest, criminal possession of a weapon and harassment, according to a spokesperson for Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown.
